Biking on Loggerhead Run Bike Path... Comments and Photos

Salinas Park to St. Joseph Peninsula State Park

We visited from Salinas Park to St. Joseph Peninsula State Park. The path starts out going west and then curves to the north, rounding St. Joseph Bay on the right and the Gulf of Mexico on the left. The path runs roadside with no shade, bring sunscreen and water.

St. Joseph Peninsula State Park

The St. Joseph Peninsula runs 20 miles along the Gulf of Mexico, with majestic dunes and the State Park's 10 miles of sandy beaches rated among the best in the nation. The Park has parking, restrooms, picnic facilities, playground, concession and restaurant. Biking is permitted on the park roads, or ride the Loggerhead Run Path along SR 30. Other activities include swimming, fishing, shelling, and snorkeling on the beach; boating and paddling (rentals available); hiking on the nature trail, and camping plus 8 air conditioned vacation cabins. Wildlife include nesting sea turtles, deer, fox, otter, raccoon, and more. Part of the Florida Birding Trail, there are many shorebirds and wading birds for birdwatching.
