Loggerhead Run Bike Path

Loggerhead Run is an 8-mile paved bike trail on Cape San Blas that runs next to Hwy 30E (Cape San Blas Road) from Salinas Park near Port St. Joe, FL to St. Joseph Peninsula State Park. The State Park roads are bikeable also. Access to Parks and beach, food. (Map link and photos below.)

Page Summary:
We visited from Salinas Park to St. Joseph Peninsula State Park. The path starts out going west and then curves to the north, rounding St. Joseph Bay on the right and the Gulf of Mexico on the left. The path runs roadside with no shade, bring sunscreen and water.
The St. Joseph Peninsula runs 20 miles along the Gulf of Mexico, with majestic dunes and the State Park's 10 miles of sandy beaches rated among the best in the nation. The Park has parking, restrooms, picnic facilities, playground, concession and restaurant. Biking is permitted on the park roads, or ride the Loggerhead Run Path along SR 30. Other activities include swimming, fishing, shelling, and snorkeling on the beach; boating and paddling (rentals available); hiking on the nature trail, and camping plus 8 air conditioned vacation cabins. Wildlife include nesting sea turtles, deer, fox, otter, raccoon, and more. Part of the Florida Birding Trail, there are many shorebirds and wading birds for birdwatching.
