Woodpecker Trail

This 3.4 mile paved multi-use trail at Big Shoals State Park along the Suwannee River connects the Big Shoals and Little Shoals entrances of the park. Not a major bike trail, but a pleasant ride if you're in the area. There also are 28 miles of unpaved trails for mountain biking, hiking, and horseback riding. State Park fee applies. Page Summary:
Starting from the Little Shoals (west) entrance, to Big Shoals entrance and return - about 7 miles round-trip. Note: some areas of the Woodpecker Trail are subject to flooding after heavy rains.
The park has parking, restrooms, picnic facilities, and a canoe/kayak launch (requires a carry). In addition to biking, activities include hiking, paddling, horseback riding, birding, and fishing. Located along the Suwannee River, the park is notable as having the largest whitewater rapids in Florida, with 80 foot limestone bluffs overlooking the Suwannee River.
