Guy Bradley Trail - Flamingo
Latest update: January 2025
Flamingo is not a primary Everglades destination for biking (unlike Shark Valley for example). But even limited biking and hiking can be a fun part of the National Park experience. Guy Bradley Trail is a scenic, paved pathway along Florida Bay from the Flamingo Visitor Center and to the campgrounds (about 1.20 miles round-trip).
Location: Everglades National Park-Flamingo (See map)
Mileage: About 3 miles: Guy Bradley Trail (0.6 mile), various around the visitor center, marina,
and campground
Surface: Paved
Bike Shops/Rentals: Flamingo Adventures at the Visitor Center
Page Summary:
The Guy Bradley Trail is a scenic short-cut between the Visitor Center and the campgrounds. From the Visitor Center, follow the pathway west, then onto the trail running behind the Flamingo Lodge and Restaurant. Continue along the waterfront to the campgrounds. At the campground end, the trail starts from the turnaround at the end of the road, past the glamping tents. A restroom and amphitheater are located here, a popular spot for fishing.
The scenic paved path is popular for biking and walking, and is wheelchair compatible. Enjoy the views of Florida Bay, assorted birds and butterflies. Old pier pilings remain from the original fishing village at Flamingo. Restrooms are available at the Flamingo Visitor Center, and at the turnaround where the trail exits to the campgrounds.
The Guy Bradley Visitor Center offers parking, restrooms, gift shop, information, brochures and exhibits. Restaurant and lodging, campground facilities, public boat ramp, marina and marina store, and hiking and paddling trails are located nearby (see below).
Recently rebuilt (now raised to better weather hurricanes), the Flamingo Lodge includes 24 water-view rooms and suites. The adjacent Flamingo Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
In addition to the Lodge, accommodations include Flamingo Campground with RV and walk-up sites, "glamping" eco-tents, wilderness campsites, and fully-equipped houseboats (at the marina).
At the Flamingo Marina are the Marina Store, boat tours, houseboat rentals, bicycle rentals, and kayak/canoe rentals. There are two launch areas, saltwater on one side, freshwater on the other.
