At just over over a thousand acres in size, bicycles are a great way to explore all sides of this natural oasis. The State Park is best known for its 15 miles of off-road trails, but we mostly stuck to the paved paths on this day. Bike rentals (along with kayak, canoe, and paddleboard rentals) are available from the Park concessionaire. In addition to bicycling, the State Park provides restrooms, a white sand beach, paddling launch (no motors), picnicking, camping, and hiking. Only 30 minutes from downtown Miami, best on weekdays, expect crowds on weekends.
