Several regional trail networks are emerging in Florida. These linked trails create larger loops and rides to connect towns, beaches, parks, and people. Some intersect or overlap each other, creating even longer rides. These are existing and emerging regional networks we've visited, we'll add more as we discover them or new ones are added (use links below to view details):
Florida Coast-to-Coast Trail - 250 miles across Florida, connecting the Gulf Coast at St. Petersburg on the west, through Central Florida, to the Atlantic Coast on the east at Canaveral National Seashore. Spanning nine counties, this is a state and regional collaboration linking existing trails and filling gaps between them. Portions overlap the St. Johns River-to-Sea Loop.
Heart of Florida Loop - Linking existing and evolving trail systems, approximately 215 miles when done, covering 8 counties. It incorporates portions of the Florida Coast-to-Coast Trail (C2C), St. Johns River-to-Sea Loop (SJR2C), Withlacoochee State Trail, and Cross Florida Greenway.
St. Johns River-to-Sea Loop - 260 miles in northeast-central Florida through St. Johns, Flagler, Volusia, Brevard, and Putnam Counties. The section from St. Augustine to Titusville is part of the East Coast Greenway (Maine to Key West); from Titusville to DeBary the route is shared with the Florida Coast-to-Coast Trail.
Pinellas Trail Loop - A regional trail network providing safe recreational and transportation alternatives in Pinellas County. The loop from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs and return will total about 75 miles when complete. It includes the Pinellas Trail (part of the Florida Coast-to-Coast Trail).
Capital City to the Sea Trails - Linking Tallahassee to small towns along Florida's Gulf Coast, via a series of connected trails in Wakulla and Leon Counties - when complete, a 120 mile loop.
Palatka Trails - Palatka, a designated Florida Trail Town, serves as a hub connecting the Palatka to St. Augustine State Trail (part of the St. Johns River-to-Sea Loop), Palatka Urban Trail, and Palatka to Lake Butler State Trail for over 100 miles of biking when completed.
